Factory buildings and office signs
Good signposting contributes to present Jotun in a proper and professional manner and is of considerable importance for our Corporate Identity.
Below we present our guidelines for outdoor signboards with lighting and without lighting, outdoor and indoor direction signs, shop decoration, facades and interior decoration, light boxes, use of vertical logo, flags, banners and table pennants.

Signposting is a service to help visitors find their way. It is therefore important that signs are placed in a conspicuous position and provide clear information.
Jotun factories and buildings shall preferably - whenever possible - be white accordingly, and preferably with active use of Jotun blue as only contrast colour (see images above and below). Any deviations from this practice shall be acknowledged in writing from Jotun Corporate in Sandefjord.

Interior Design
Interior Design Manual
The guidelines have been created to ensure that Jotun’s buildings in different parts of the world have a clear and recognisable interior profile. When inside a Jotun building, the premises should be inspiring and create enthusiasm – for both employees and visitors.
The manual is intended as a tool for project managers and architects, so that the choices made in building and renovation processes will ensure that the building and interior are in line with Jotun’s profile.
It provides guidelines for material, colour and furniture choices for the interior of the buildings, and should be used in combination with existing rules for building design, signage and printed media.

General advise
The illustration shows outdoor signs in use. Signboards without payoff and signboards on blue background with payoff are allowed. Signboards with payoff is preferred when possible and relevant, for instance directly in front of the building, at the parking lot, etc. The vertical logo can be usedonlyafter permission from Jotun CorporateHQ, but this should be avoided if possible. Dimensions are important in signs on roofs and walls. Size should be selected on the basis of the necessary legible distance and the environment surrounding the buildings.
Signs which are too large and obtrusive can be a negative element in the environment.
Use of the vertical logo should be avoided on Jotun premises except from on the Jotun flag. However, the vertical logo can be used as light box out from the wall when this is the obvious alternative.
The vertical logo can be acquired by contacting Jotun Corporate. Any proposed use of the vertical logo must be approved in advance by Jotun Corporate.
Outdoor signposts
These signs are intented for use flat against the wall or on the corner of offices or factory buildings. As a general rule, the horizontal logo is to be shown on buildings. Should this be unsuitable for practical reasons or with regard to exposure, the vertical version may be used only positioned out from the wall as illustrated below. This sign may be suspended protruding from a wall or be fixed flat on a wall.
Signs with integral lighting are based on an aluminium box section adapted to the shape of the logotype.
The box section is to be painted in Jotun grey. Jotuns logotype is to be produced in foil in the correct corporate colours on acrylic plastic.
In countries where two-language version of the logo is required, the two logo versions must never be placed close together, but must be placed at a good distance from each other, preferably at either end of the frontage.Outdoor signs with lighting

Outdoor direction signs
Types of outdoor reference signs:
• Signs placed at the entrance of a building or drive-in must show the Jotun logo and the name and address of the company or division
• Signs located within the company area shall point out the direction to the individual divisions and departments. The logo shall be included, but in smaller size than for entrance or drive-in.
Signs for outdoor use are to be designed in such a way that the panels can be modified or changed as required. There are several sign systems which meet such requirements. The measurements given on the illustrations must therefore be adapted for each individual type of sign.
Panels are to be blue and frames grey.Indoor direction signs
The signs are to be placed in a central position in an entrance, corridor, stairway etc. The size of the signs should be adjusted to the available space. The signs should be based on a flexible system enabling changes when necessary. The upper panel can display the main logo.
Panels are to be in Jotun blue, text in white and arrows in red. -
