Respect is an important value to me. I recognise that my colleagues, customers and society have different cultures and traditions. But embracing teamwork, regardless of our differences, requires that we show respect for each other. By accommodating other people we make a contribution to our common goals. Regardless of our differences, we stand shoulder to shoulder and believe in each other.

Interacting with colleagues, customers and society requires two values: Respect and Care. Whether it is colleagues or customers, I always respect their opinions and input – even if we don’t necessarily always agree. After 25 years in Jotun, I have a great deal of care for our fellow penguins, and enjoy helping – if I can – by sharing some of my experience and knowledge achieved through the years.

Respect. I have been very fortunate to meet and work with customers, authorities and penguins from many countries with different cultural backgrounds. Respecting local culture and lifestyles has been fundamental in Jotun’s success and has opened up for divergent approaches to challenges and goals.

Respect is the Jotun value that best describes how I interact with my colleagues, customers and society. Firstly, I am a firm believer that one should treat others as you would like to be treated. And secondly, I feel that respect instills and inspires people to assist and achieve. Respectfully recognising individual talents and contributions, regardless of diverse culture or characteristics, creates mutual respect and ultimate success.
